Annapurna Interactive 2022
Today the beloved game developer ANNAPURNA took the stage to showcase a few games planned to come out over the next year and even a couple of shadow drops. It was a light show of trailers and teasers that featured a collection of light-hearted narrative games each with stylized graphics. Between reveals were small developer spotlights on studios like Cardboard Computer of Kentucky Route Zero fame and a two-person penpal “Postal Service-esq” team that began working on a game without ever meeting. There were a few new console announcements and then ended with a thrilling realistic-looking first-person dinosaur survivor game.
Here was everything that was announced:
Thirsty Suitors - an action-adventure RPG about self-discovery in a surreal small town. Boss fights are against ex-boyfriends whom you confront and taunt to reveal story plots and shape your personality. Eventually you are pulled into your ex’s “psychic landscape” based on their super-ego. Once “defeated” you reconcile your past and can move on as friends or something more. A Bollywood-themed rom-com with some light Tony Hawk elements because why not. Coming to Steam, PS4/5, Xbox, Game Pass, and Switch with a Steam demo out now. Developed by Outerloop.
Hindsight - a narrative psychological story about loss and moving on. A Minimalistic cell-shaded art style with light puzzle aspects. Coming to Steam, Switch, and App Store on August 4th
Bounty Star The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem - A 3rd Person Mechfighter base-building game with a western flair coming out in 2023.

Forever Ago by Third Shift - This Road Trip Game with strong photography elements takes you across a beautiful landscape inspired by the Pacific coast. “In this single-player road trip adventure, you'll travel to beautiful places, capture memories with your camera, meet interesting people, and even make some new friends.” Featuring a score by Clark About (Slay the Spire) and was developed by Third Shift a small two-person team. Wishlist it now on Steam.
Flock - A Colorful exploration traversal game involving gathering groups of strange colorful creatures. Movement and gameplay look reminiscent of Flower and Journey.
Hohokum - Shadow Drops on Steam today! A Colorful rhythm music game with some strong Yellow Submarine vibes.
Uvula - A Teaser for new game by Keita Takahashi of Katamari fame. A Story about Boy and his Dog and that was all the information we were given in this 10-sec teaser.
The Lost Wild - This Prehistoric survival game by Great Ape Games looks very promising. They describe the game as “An immersive and cinematic dinosaur game that captures the reverence and terror of nature’s most magnificent beasts. Come face-to-face with dinosaurs that behave like wild animals, not monsters.”
The trailer features highly detailed graphics as the player moves through a rain-slicked jungle discovering and hiding from a variety of giant-scaled beasts. The scene then cuts to an abandoned facility taken over by the environment. The player searches for clues and finds a flare which they later use to fend off a pack of ferocious and hungry dinos.
The release date is expected late 2024/2025.
